Hartill Picnic Report
City Park, Chewelah WA

The 46th Hartill family picnic gathered at the Chewelah City Park on Aug 12, 2007. We had a very lovely summer day, temperature was quite tolerable. There were 7 in attendance, which was even lower than last year.

We discussed moving the reunion picnic back to Spokane where it originated, since few if any from the Chewelah area are attending in the last few years. After more consideration, it is felt we perhaps should consider discontinuing having these.

After a time of visiting, we had the picnic. Following that we had the following short business meeting.

M/S/C to send $100.00 to the Chewelah Cemetery Association this year. Maggie will take care of this.

Doorprizes were furnished by Kathy & Howie Wynia but they were not used. We dispensed with the auction and sent a collection plate around. Collected a total of $75.00.

Howard Wynia took the Hartill Picnic sign home with him and will see what is entailed to have the picnic on one of the parks on Division Street in Spokane, if we have one. Reservations cannot be made for a park in Spokane until after January 2008.

I have decided it would be best to cease having the picnics. The attendance has been such it does not seem to be worth the time to organize. If there is anyone who wishes otherwise, please contact me. If I do not hear otherwise by Jan 01, 2008, I will see that the balance of the treasury is sent to the Chewelah Pioneer Cemetery.
