Saint Gall Cemetery is north of Hwy 195 and can be seen from the Hwy
on your left, as you enter the town of Colton from the north.
Saint Gall Cemetery was established about 1888 by the first catholic
church in Colton.
Today the cemetery is owned by the Catholic Diocese of Spokane and
is managed by a committee in Uniontown. It is under perpetual care.
The cemetery has three main sections, each of which is covered in with
a well manicured lawn. The newest section contains only a few burials,
leaving much room for future. I found the cemetery in excellent condition.
I compared my work with an older reading of this cemetery done in 1973
by Wes & Carrie Lartigue. I found no stone for entries followed
by an * asterisk. These listings came from their work and I cannot vouch
for their accuracy.
I have transcribed from the headstone readings acquired when I walked
and read this cemetery, using a digital camera on Jul 03, 2006.
