When entering Uniontown on Hwy 195, turn east onto Blair Street, then
left to Denison St and turn right, continuing on up the hill. It is across
the road to the left, from Uniontown Community Cemetery and just past
the Memorial Park.
This is the cemetery which is owned by the Catholic Diocese of Spokane
and managed by a committee in Uniontown.
The land for the cemetery was donated by Thomas Montgomery about 1879.
He gave two separate parcels of land, one for the catholics and one
for the protestants to have a cemetery. Judging from the dates on the
stones, they must have started to bury shortly after that.
Saint Boniface Cemetery is divided into four fairly evenly divided
sections. I tried to keep track of all in each section. I did not try
to keep track of the rows. There are some which have no location on
them. I added the Sexton location to those if it was available, however
not all had it.
I have transcribed from the headstone readings I acquired when I walked
and read this cemetery on Sep 01, 2003. I used my digital camera and
have photos of all existing and legible markers, without an * asterisk.
Those with an asterisk * came from sexton files provided me by Brenda
Dahmen. I have a photo of all existing stones at this time, if interested
in obtaining one, you may contact me about it.
