To reach this cemetery from Hwy 2, go north on Wood Rd to Coulee-Hite Rd, turn left on Gray Rd. The cemetery is located in the NW quarter of Sec 22, Twp 26 N, R 40 E in Coulee Twp, about 15 miles NW of Spokane.
The West Greenwood Cemetery was incorporated in 1896 as Greenwood cemetery. With time the name was changed, perhaps to remove confusion with Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Spokane, which organized in 1888.
It is now owned by the West Greenwood Cemetery District #2. It is managed and maintained by an appointed committee, under the supervision of the County. It is maintained by volunteers.
I first transcribed this in 1998 and again on Jun 01, 2003, walking the cemetery and later additions from the current sexton records for West Greenwood Cemetery up to Mar 22, 2010 for those I did not find or buried since that time.
I returned to the cemetery on Jun 01, 2003, using my digital camera. I have now read and transcribed from all existing headstones as well as comparing with the sexton records. An asterisk * has been placed after all stones which I did not fiind a marker for and do not have a photo of.
