Mica Peak Cemetery
Saxby, Spokane County, Washington

Mica Peak cemetery is located on Elder Road, east of Hwy 27 in Spokane County. Years ago it was called Saxby WA, now it is Rockford.

The cemetery was incorporated Jan 9, 1899. Deeds were not distributed until the 1920's. Additional acreage of land was purchased on Sep 02, 1922. There are perhaps many buried before this time that I do not have.

I have transcribed from the readings acquired by myself and Vicki Morris when we walked the cemetery on Apr 21, 1999. After that I compared this work with old copies of Sexton files. We found this cemetery to be cared for although it is not perpetual care.

I again walked this cemetery on Aug 26, 2002, using my digital camera. I have photos of many of the headstones, which I am willing to share. I was able to add more names to the first work. Then in Feb 2003, I received additional information and names from Richard Burton, the current President of the Mica Peak Cemetery Association.
