Wauconda Cemetery

Wauconda Cemetery is located off Highway 20 approximately 1 1/2 miles north on Summer Rd., which is about a mile and a half west of Wauconda. I found it rather tricky to find after the left turn into the woods, but there is a sign which says Cemetery, hang left. It is a beautiful setting under the evergreen trees. A chain link fence has been built around the cemetery for it's protection. While not perpetual care, the cemetery is in quite good shape.
The land for this cemetery was donated by a Mr Summer, plus the road leading into the cemetery is named after him. The Wauconda Cemetery Association takes care of it now. I hope to add more information on this later. While the cemetery is in the Wauconda area the mailing address is #3 Summer Rd, Tonasket WA 98855.
I walked this cemetery on May 23, 2000. After compiling my work I have compared it with another reading by Jean Cook, Violet Utt and Linda Harris in 1979. An asterisk * has been placed at the end of any entries from their work, this means these have no headstone. I have digital photos of many of the stones which I am willing to share.
