Ellisforde Mission Cemetery
Okanogan County, Washington

Lat: 48°47'27"N, Lon: 119°23'50"W
T38N R27E Sec 14.

Transcribed by Maggie Rail, Sep 10, 2000, updated Oct 12, 2010 [mrail@asisna.com]. Total records = 167.

This old Catholic Mission cemetery can be found directly behind the Brethren Church in Ellisforde, WA, which is on Hwy 97, north of Tonasket Wa about 7 miles.

The shrine housing the old mission bell lies south of the cemetery, which you will pass on your way. The cemetery is enclosed in a wire fence. Parts of this cemetery were overgrown, hiding the crosses which marked the burial sites, but the largest part has been cleaned out.

I walked this cemetery on Jun 26, 2000. There are a few entries with very little information. They are included, because it might be a clue for someone. I compared my work with an earlier reading of the cemetery by Opal Willms and Violet Utt in 1983, in "Okanogan County Cemetery Records," pub. by OCGS in 1991. These entries are followed by and asterisk *.

I used my digital camera with many, and am willing to share if I have a photo you would like.
