Driving NE from Ephrata toward Soap Lake on Hwy 28, continue a half-mile east of the turnoff to Soap Lake. The cemetery will be on your left at Road A. There are three different entry gates. Be sure to pay attention which ones are open. During the summer they close them for short periods of time while watering.
This cemetery was first started by the Paul Family in September of 1955. In 1963 it was first purchased by Leslie Parr and very soon after on Jul 31, 1963 by a group of 9 investors from Spokane, who kept it until September of 1965 when William and Fanny Lewis purchased it.
The Lewis' continued to operate it for about 39yr, until William passed away in May of 2002. Fanny continued to operate it until 2004 when she sold it to John and Vanessa Brown, who will be taking it over before the end of this year. Fanny is still there as I transcribe this.
The cemetery is divided into four gardens (listed below). I tried to show the garden each is buried in, but please do not be upset if I erred. The office will be able to help in that event. It might be helpful to also have the row. The office is on the cemetery grounds.
I have transcribed from the photos I took, using my digital camera, as I walked and read this cemetery on Jun 24, 2004. I am willing to share a photo if I have one that someone would like.
