To get to Mae Valley, take first exit from I90 after the bridge, by the
state park, Westlake Dr NE then left onto Mae Valley Rd. & D NE, cemetery
on left or south side of road.
I was unable to find this old family cemetery when I visited the area.
I am told it has only one stone left in it and is very overgrown. I
have also found this called the Bell Cemetery and the Mae Valley Cemetery.
The cemetery is all but forgotten. It does get mowed once in a while,
but most markers are gone, with the exception of one lone stone for
Ella and George Hill. It shows evidence of other burials.
I was able to acquire a small accounting from the Grant County Genealogy
Library. It is copied from information provided to the library by Mrs.
Mabel Bell Thompson, who is the granddaughter of George and Ella Hill
and also information from Barbara Morrison. The library account speaks
of deaths by the flu in 1918, but I am unsure which ones it applies
to.
I transcribed this on May 10, 2008 from collected information.
