From Kettle Falls take Hwy 20 headed west toward Republic. Turn left at the Lake Ellen/Inchelium turnoff, heading south toward Inchelium. After about 4.7 mi you will turn right, or west, on the Lake Ellen road. The cemetery is in about a mile on your left behind the Garden Valley Church.

The land for the Garden Valley Community Church and Cemetery was donated by Dick and Bertha Ensminger to be used by the community for a cemetery and a church. One of the first burials in the cemetery was William Maddox in 1908. Construction of the church building was started in 1909 and completed in 1911.

The cemetery is situated behind the church and still used for burial. The Garden Valley Cemetery Association maintains the cemetery, which is not affiliated with the church, which is situated beside the cemetery. The Sexton for this cemetery is Arlene Borgeau, 810 S. Oak Street #108, Colville, WA 99114.

I walked this cemetery on Aug 02, 2001 and used my digital camera and notepad. Not all stones and markers were able to be photographed due to age or legibility. I have acquired the map of the cemetery, making it possible to add most of the locations.
