From Ruff, in Grant County, drive north on W NE, then turn right onto Rehn Road and continue for 2 miles. Cemetery will be on the left at the corner of N Irby Rd, in Adams County.

From I-90 take the Warden exit and travel north about 1 mile. Turn right at the stop sign and continue about 1 mile east, you will come to a sign that says Ruff. Turn left (north) till you come to several very large grain elevators. This is the town of Ruff, the sign is difficult to spot.

This cemetery, which is sometimes referred to as the Ruff Cemetery, was established in 1914, on land donated by the Schell Family. The earliest burial record listed is that of Luisa Hoffner buried in January that same year.

This cemetery is situated on a small hill 2 miles east of Ruff and has been the burial place for the Ruff community since it began. It is fenced with an arched entrance and double gates, one on the west and one on the south. The sections consist mainly of family areas, sometimes also fenced.

It appears to have more burials without markers, a few but not many illegible markers. It is well cared for by families, and community get togethers.

I surveyed the cemetery on May 21, 2005, used a digital camera, it includes all existing and legible stones and markers. I compared my reading with a previous record done in 1975. Those which say no marker, came from that record.
