From Scio, drive south on Hwy 226 for about 4 miles, turn left onto Fish Hatchery Drive and continue for about 2 miles, then right onto Richardson Gap Road. In about 1 mile you will see the church on your left at top of the hill, with the cemetery behind and to the right of it.
Providence Cemetery is located adjacent to the Providence Church, which dates back to about 1855. The cemetery was started by the church about that time.

This cemetery has roughly in three sections, one behind the church, another across the road from that one and one that is down on the hillside. These are my divisions, not the association's.
I visited and walked this cemetery on Sep 07-08, 2006, using a digital camera. This includes all existing and legible headstones readings plus some old DAR records I found.
